Exercise Highlight 8: Split Squat
First off, Split Squats are not lunges. This is a stationary movement that's staggered stance in the sagittal plane of motion. The Split Squat will require proper hip, knee and toe (particularly the big toe) mobility in order to execute properly.

Like many of us that run far I have spent a lot of time away from my family, preparing to be away from my family even longer. I have been building myself up to see just how “fast” I can run 100 miles.
Exercise Highlight 7: Kneeling Core Press-out Progressions
Including the Core Band Press-out with Progression before and during your workouts, a few times each week, can help ensure that your core is activated and ready for the training session ahead.

The 2016 Grindstone 100 by Mike Siudy
The plan from the start was to run most/all of it with Philip Vondra, and we had a very loose plan to shoot for 24 hours, or at least to beat sunset on Saturday. Neither of those goals were met but here's the gist of what happened.

Incident Report: “Blood on the Trail” The Catskills Strike Back by Ben Nephew
This is going to be more of an incident report than a race report, as David Kilgore’s injury was the story of the day, and the craziest thing I have seen in 20 years of trail racing.

I went to the VT 50 with the plan to ride it for the 3rd year in a row but with minimal time spent on the bike this year and a lot more time on my feet instead (should of switched to the run...), I decided to experience the event from a different perspective.
FKT ReportL Carrigain Loop, New Hampshire "This was Plan D" by Ben Nephew

Documenting a Presidential Traverse FKT by Ben Nephew
A few weeks ago, I received an email from Rufus Frost asking me if I was interested in being involved in the filming of a FKT attempt on the 18.4 mile Presidential Traverse. They thought the idea of an FKT attempt would be a good fit for a World of Adventure episode on Outside TV, as well as provide good footage for a Subaru ad.

Gear Review: Patagonia Strider Pro Shorts
I tend to be pretty picky about my running shorts, more so than most of my other gear. I run in shorts down to about 25 degrees outside, so I spend a good bit of the year in shorts. I don't like my shorts too long or too short; I like a certain cut.
