The Vermont 50 & WEEK in ADVENTURE! It was a hot start to the fall season. Temps reached 80º + and the sun was strong. MPF athletes and the MPF RNR Team were all over the East Coast!

Rich Heffron placed 2nd (11:04:16) & Scotie Jacobs placed 4th (12:19:11), Laura Rekkerth was 9th female at the Twisted Branch 100k Trail Run! Something was happening in Leadville Colorado. ou have to embrace the darkness to get to the light. There have been a lot of big changes in my life since my last race report, which was for Grindstone 100. I pretty much had a walk through Hell at Grindstone, as my marriage was coming to an end amongst other things. Trudging through pouring rain mostly alone for 30 hours or so gives a person way too much time to think....

Today was indeed an adventure! We met this morning at the Mount Beacon Trail Head and ventured out to the Breakneck Point Trail courses covering several + miles.  At points we went off course taking advantage of the abundance of snow with our snowshoes. 

We rang in the New Year with a trip to the Adirondacks High Peaks Wilderness! 

Like many of us that run far I have spent a lot of time away from my family, preparing to be away from my family even longer. I have been building myself up to see just how “fast” I can run 100 miles.

When Ryan Welts from New Hampshire joined the MPF RNR trail running team I immediately thought it would be great if he led the next team adventure. I messaged him and he graciously accepted the task!  We came up with a date, gear requirements, etc. and soon the trip became a reality and we were off to adventure on the 16 mile traverse of the Franconia Ridge.
