About the Photo #1: The Cornell Crack

This photo is from the inaugural running of the Cats Tail Trail Marathon in 2015. The race takes place in the Catskill Mountains of New York. I headed in about 7 miles, starting from the Frost Valley Rd parking area and made my way over Slide & Cornell Mountain. I was taking photos and video along the way, with the goal of getting to this area which is called Cornell Crack at about mile 15 of the course and just below the summit of Cornell Mountain. I had to position myself carefully on an edge of a steep drop off. As you can see, it was wet and pretty slippery. This is Sebastien Roder making his way down. He finished the day about mid pack in 8:20. It goes to show you just how hard this marathon is. I made my way down after he and Chris had past and took a few more photos before making my way to Wittenberg Mtn. The last photo I took of this area, I slipped off an ledge and just caught myself on a branch. I would of fallen about 15 feet onto some sharp rocks...
