The Fastpack 20 is a day hiking pack that is inspired by Ultimate Directions Signature Series of running vests.

Another rugged day in the Catskills of New York! Rain, wind, cold and challenging terrain is what Ben cherishes the most. 

Silas has had several top finishes this year but was yet to gain the win he was looking for. This would be his last attempt of the year before he headed into his off-season after a very busy year. Check out his race report to see how his day went.

Instead of writing a lengthy recap of the race as there is too much to express, I plan on giving you the Sparknotes version: 50 Pathways to Success at the Virgil Crest Ultras that I have found in my race.

By the time I woke up, I was already feeling the impact of the altitude. Training at the sea levels of Virginia for a race at the high elevations of Utah was not going to be a vacation getaway.

This was Lisa's 2nd year crewing/pacing at the Virgil Crest ultras for her boyfriend Jim Porter. This year  she was able to help out at 2 aid stations and pace for Jim as well.

This was Evan's 2nd year in a row riding the VT 50 and it is quickly becoming his favorite race of the season. Evan took almost 30 minutes off his time from the previous year and did so just using 1 gear.

Adventure: 30 miles, five headwalls in one day- King Ravine, Great Gulf, Tuckerman Ravine, Huntington Ravine and Madison Gulf. 31,000 feet of elevation change (15.5k up, 15.5k down).

This was the inaugural running of the Ellenville Mountain Running Festival. Ben Nephew & MPF RNR Teammate Iain Ridgway ran the marathon distance and just about had another sprint finish to the end as they did earlier in the year at Breakneck Ridge...

This was Ben's 15th year running the Escarpment 18.6 Mile Trail Run which takes place in the rugged Catskills of New York. He thought he seen it all, but every year at Escarpment is somehow different, and this year was no exception, especially with the surprise at the top of Blackhead Mountain...

This years Sky Marathon had a bit of an added challenge with the torrential downpours the night before and throughout the day. Runners were in knee deep mud at times and battling 50+mph winds near the summit.
