Pre 2013 Wasatch 100 thoughts: "Just hours away from a 5,000 foot climb to start with..." By Elizabeth Azze
My 2nd battle against altitude started 3 years ago and the war is still officially in progress! After my DNF at the Wasatch 100 mile race in 2010 (at mile 82 or so after Brighton AS, from major illness), I took some much needed time off to reflect, heal and improve myself. At the beginning of 2013, I began to feel rested...
Adventure Report: The Great Range Traverse in the Adirondacks by Elizabeth Azze
The Great Range Traverse is consisting of a series of peaks along a ridgeline that runs southwest from Keene Valley. The peaks along this ridgeline, starting from the NE, are Rooster Comb, Hedgehog, Lower Wolfjaw, Upper Wolfjaw, Armstrong, Gothics, Saddleback, Basin, Little Haystack & Haystack and Mount Marcy, but after researching a bit they’re many different variations of the above.
Ben Nephew's The Wapack 18 Mile Trail Race in NH & MA, Race Report
It was hard to believe it had been 6 years since I had last raced at the Wapack trail race. It wasn’t a race I had done every year, but it was certainly one of my regular events. Apparently I am getting quite old, as my history there predates the intarweb.
Harry Hamilton's, The Leadville Trail 100 "Good race plan, good execution and perfect pacer!"
When you toe the starting line for a 100 mile race needless to say that you never really know what is going to happen on race day. That goes double for racing at altitude and climbing some of the toughest terrain in the ultra-world.
Jules Moore "Higher Ground" The 2013 TransRockies Race Report
After taking a short three day trip to Boulder, Colorado in January 2011, I made it a point to come back and run a race. My good friend and teammate Chris Foccaci ran TransRockies years back and described it as one of the best organized and unique races he has ran. I thought this would be a great opportunity to experience the backcountry of Colorado.

Race Report: Len Huffman's 2013 Escarpment 18.6 Mile Trail Run
The 18.6 Mile Escarpment Trail Run has been taking place in the Catskills Mountains of New York for more than 30 years. It is a race that has been on my radar for a while but never fit into my schedule. This year the timing was just right!
Photos & Videos from the 2013 Escarpment Trail Run!
A race within a race... Elizabeth, Sam and I were running a little behind schedule so we had our own little race to this section of the course. We parked at Big Hollow Road; the start of the Manitou's Revenge Ultra and ran up to about mid point of Blackhead Mountain.
Phil Germakian's 2013 Eldora Trail 10K in Colorado Race Report
On Saturday, July 27, I ran my first trail race at altitude, The Eldora Trail 10K, after moving to Boulder, Colorado only five short weeks ago. Training in Boulder, which sits at an elevation of 5,430 ft. has been humbling to say the least.

By Joe Azze
Here are photos and a few videos from the Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Runs. They are mainly of the 100 mile runners that went in and out of the Tunnel Creek, Diamond Peak and Spooner Lake Aid Station. I focused on these areas because I was crewing
Race Report: 2013 Mountain Bike NJ State Championship Bulldog Rump by MPF Athlete Evan Fineman
This race win was all about knowing the course and sticking to the plan. From the start I knew that the Bike Dr. rider who won the last two weeks would be out for blood. He's been looking to take the series and needed more points to take the win. Out of the first 4 races in the series I've raced 2, and took 2nd and 1st. So he needed more points to guarantee his lead.

Harry Hamilton's 2013 Manitou's Revenge 54 Mile Ultra Race Report "Look Ma no Headlamp!"
Manitou’s Revenge is a 56 mile gnarly, grueling, nasty, sick mountain climbing ultra-beast in the Catskills of New York. If it was a dog it would be an abused, starving, ill-tempered pit-bull. There are roots and rocks everywhere on the course and it seems like they reach out of the ground and bite your ankles at every opportunity.
Photos from the 2013 Manitou's Revenge Ultramarathon!
The inaugural Manitou’s Revenge 56 Mile Ultra Marathon & Relay in the Northeastern Catskills, was a huge success! 61 of some of the toughest endurance athletes around showed up to test themselves both mentally and physically on some of the most demanding trails in the country.

The Manitou’s Revenge Ultramarathon takes place June 22nd and spawned into life as an extension of the legendary Escarpment Trail Run.
