Sights & Sounds from the 2018 U.S. Snowshoe National Championships

Here are some Sights & Sounds from the 2018 Dion Snowshoe National Championships which took place in Woodford, Vermont at the Prospect Mountain Nordic Ski Center! They had received 40+ inches of snow just a couple of days before race weekend. This was a fun one to try to capture. The packed down trail was pretty narrow so each time a runner would come by, I had to quickly sprint up ahead, jump off to the side in waist deep snow and get the shot.

As per the title, this video is without any music and the sound is just from what I captured, which came out pretty good. I used my Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark 2 with a Rode VideoMic Pro. The last few shots in the video were take with my iPhone X so you can see and hear the difference. Take a listen to the sounds the snowshoes make and how they differentiate from runner to runner. No gimbal was used in the making of this film.
