MPF News

“Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the humans spirit. The potential for greatness lives within each of us.” Wilma Rudolph.

I start with this quote today because it may seem like our clan is constantly pushing the envelope and partially we are, but it is not to be showy or elitist it really is to offer inspiration and test ourselves individually. Behind the scenes are kind, genuine people trying to live their best lives on and off the trails.

MPF Clients in Action

  • Emmanuel Obedemumi started his journey toward the completion of the Grand Slam of ultra running by buckling at the Old Dominion 100 miler ( a buckle is given to those who complete the course under 24 hours).  The Grand Slam of ultra running consists of completing 4 out the 5 oldest 100 mile races: Old Dominion 100, Western States, Vermont 100, Leadville and Wasatch. Congrats, we are excited to be a part of your journey.

  • Father son duo Jay & Jared Auslander are in Bolivia tagging peaks, so far Huayna Potosi which stands at 19,974ft and two smaller more technical routes of Pyramid Blanca. Awesome!

MPF RNR Athletes

  • Ryan Welts had a late surge to place 2nd solidifying his quest for the Pennsylvania Triple Crown of Mountain Running (Hyner 50k, Worlds End and Eastern States 100), who ever holds the least amount of points (winning = zero points) wins.

  • Scotie Jacobs had a strong race placing 12th.  Thank you to Aaron Stredny for keeping this crew together with your fantastic pacing/crewing skills (team work makes the dream work).

  •  Mathias Lipsey won by 2.5 minutes at the Wissachikson trail 10k (part of the USATF mid atlantic off road series)!

  • Jason Friedman checked out the inaugural Salomon 6 hour timed ultra on Staten Island, this event was part of the Salomon outdoor fest campout.

Last but not least Ben Nephew put it all out there when he attempted to break the CUT FKT, 112 miles following the blue trail from MA/CT border to the Long Island Sound in Guilford CT.  His attempt was a part of a volunteer organized event that raises money for the Connecticut Forest and Parks, the blue trails primary stewards.

Ben felt off from the start then struggled with extreme heat & humidity, but persevered until mile 83, the longest time on his feet. It was great to be part of his adventure, way to try something new! We will let him tell his own story...

Thanks to Laura Rekkerth and Tim Bak for coming out to help and congrats to all the runners and volunteers who were a part of this event. Now go check out the rugged beautiful trails of CT! #timetoplay
